Travel is profoundly important to me; it’s where my body and mind intersect, allowing my physical self to arrive at places my thoughts have long visited. I don't travel to collect destinations, but to gather moments that stay with me. Each trip brings forth a new series of paintings. They aren't objective records of a landscape, but personal responses to what I’ve seen and felt. A textured wall in Madrid, the way light falls in a Tokyo alley, the rhythm of a market in Cairo—these become small studies, quiet proof of my presence. I don’t expect others to see exactly what I see, but the act of translating my experiences into paint helps me hold onto them. Ultimately, designing, painting, and traveling are all ways of staying focused and curious, a way to understand the world one detail at a time.
